Procrastination is getting the best of me again

If you’re like me, you tend to push things back if they aren’t absolutely urgent right now. Historically, you can find me at department stores and malls on Christmas Eve, right after work lets out, and this year looks to be about the same. Between the day job, which is busier than in recent years, rehearsals, school concerts, holiday parties, and my own shows, it’s a miracle that I’ve got lights up outside, and a decorated tree.

That said, we’re about to reach a milestone that I can’t push back any farther. My son is on the brink of adulthood, turning 18 in a few short hours. I can’t believe that this much time has passed already. At times, it seems like it barely moves along at all, and times like this, it’s like it’s all been a blur.

This weekend, he and I will be putting on our final show of 2014, after being invited to join Timothy Foote, and his friends, Sarah Dalton and Matt Beaudry. We’re all going to be taking turns performing holiday music, and accompanying one another. We both enjoy spending time together performing music, and it has brought us closer together over the past few years. I’m just thankful that we haven’t procrastinated on our preparations. 🙂

Best wishes and happy holidays to all!
